Carsten Pieper Thomas Steffen calls himself a drummer but in fact, he's a veritable one-man band (drums, of course, guitar, bass, keys, trumpet, saxophone - astounding!). But he's never showing off on this album, instead this is very calm and soothing music. If you know Bohren & der Club of Gore, that would be a good comparison for how this album feels. Bohren call their music Dark Jazz (besides other tags), which is quite fitting here, too. Great album! Favorite track: long distance.
